Coming Alive.

So this has been the Chicago we've endured for about 6 months now:

And this was the Chicago I forgot existed this weekend:
sunny parks.

sailboating.

let's go fly a kite.
I've spent most winter dreaming of glorious other warm seaside places.
But now I'm reminded of why I live here.
And how much I really do love this city when it's warm.
It truly is THE best.
(for 6 months of the year.)
Welcome back.

What a Delight

a 24 hr layover in KC can be...

jenny b and me.

My best of friendships can be traced back to the girls in my life who loved me before I knew who I was.  When we thought we had it all together, but turns out - we were all just figuring it out. And to look back and see how we walked each other through the silly times, the sad times, and the transition times. Not knowing where life would lead us... but saying yes to the nudges in our hearts carrying us to where we are today. And now, to see exactly how each part of our journey played a role, to see where He has led us using the strengths and beauty we called out in each other all along. To watch those pieces grow us into who we're becoming as we live the journey. To embrace it, run with it, and grow together - even while apart. There's nothing else I could wish for in life than friends that become as close as family.... who challenge me to be a better person, who encourage me beyond belief, who pour into my life in ways I didn't know possible.

I just wish my loves in KC and Glasgow and Texas and Atlanta and Denver and Boston could all be here in Chicago.  Is that too much to ask?!
